The Live-in Caregiver stays in the client''s home and provides non-medical, in-home support and home management services twenty-four hours a day. (These are 24 hour shifts with the ability to sleep at night. Person hired may work one, two or three days depending upon his/her wants/needs. These could be consecutive days or split up during the week depending upon the caregiver''s availability.) He or she provides companionship to those individuals requiring socialization and minimum guidance for a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment. He or she is provided with private sleeping quarters.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and has completed any state-mandated training. Previous experience is preferred. In addition, he or she has a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled, reliable transportation, a valid driver''s license, a clean driving record, and current automobile insurance. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
